Maine Mountain and Lake Wedding
Emotional Maine Mountain and Lake Wedding
I recently had the pleasure of photographing Julia and Jackson’s wedding in Weld, Maine. They got married in front of Webb Lake on private property and the view was just stunning. The forecast called for thundershowers and rain, but it never rained or stormed. I always find this incredibly wild when it happens on wedding days, as it has occurred at many weddings I photograph. It WAS crazy windy, however, but I think we were all happy to take the wind over rain and storms.
Julia got ready in a brand new cabin on the property right next to everything. After getting hair and makeup done, and catching a few photos of the guys finishing up getting ready in another cabin, we went to the dock to do a first look with Julia’s dad and her husband-to-be. Shortly after, we were able to get the formals done before the ceremony with no shortage of winds on the lake. The ceremony was beautiful and very emotional. Getting married on the beach is always so sweet! The waves were crashing in with white caps and really added to the mood.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour provided by Rustic Taps Catering. Dinner was also provided by Rustic Taps Catering in the form of Wood Fired Pizza! They were pumping out a new pizza every 3 minutes! As a gluten-free wedding photographer, I was unsure if I would be able to eat from the pizza truck, but I asked if they had any gluten-free crust, AND THEY DID! It was the absolute best pizza ever!
Speeches were nothing short of a big cry fest between us all, even me. I don’t usually get overly emotional at weddings, but the speeches had even me tearing up! Even little Henry, the ring bearer was bawling his eyes out. Overall, this wedding was full of stunning scenery, kind and friendly people, and lots of emotions! Enjoy the photos!
